This fall I will be joining the Nomads Clinic in Nepal for a medical service trek.
I am full of gratitude for this opportunity to visit the Dolpo, a remote roadless region of Nepal, and provide medical services while I am there.
The trek itself is 33 days. We will hike to each new location for our make-shift clinics, averaging 13,000 feet of elevation.
The Dolpo is the land of Peter Matthiessen's The Snow Leopard, his book documenting his time on these trails in 1978 with the biologist George Schaller.
I leave for Nepal on September 15th, and will start trekking in the Dolpo Region on September 18th. I return on October 23rd, and will be in touch after I have recuperated for a couple of days to let you know of my return and availability.
If you would like to learn more about the trip here is a video from last year's journey to the Dolpo - Nomads Clinic 2015.
I am currently available for appointments through September 12th. Please let me know if you would like to schedule with me before I go.
I will be truly unplugged during this time. Really, there is no WIFI or cell phone towers!
Dr. Christa Barton has graciously agreed to cover for me during my absence, for all of your naturopathic, medical and craniosacral needs.
Should you need anything please contact her. Feel free to call (503-309-8855) or email her (dr.christabarton@gmail.com). She is available for appointments at her office at 2700 SE 26th Ave, Suite D, Portland, OR 97202.
I anticipate I will gain more than I give on this pilgrimage, and look forward to sharing my experience with you upon my return.
Wishing all of you well, and Namasté!
Stephanie
